Waiting in vain

So, this piece came about when I was literally tired of waiting and all in vain. Hence, the title. A personal sort of writing that I cannot stop loving despite the fact it left my eyes watery for long. I love the fact how effortless this piece is without compromising with the essence of it.

Just when I thought I had lost the strength to do all-nighters,
I was introduced to the concept of time zone.

Just when I thought I was being taken for granted,
I let them take me some more.

Just when I thought I was made to look desperate,
I ceased all effort to interact.

Just when I thought I was losing my importance,
I tried to maintain my self esteem.

Just when I thought my ego had outgrown me,
I let it grow a little more.

Just when I thought they didn't care any more,
I became careless.

Just when I thought I had been too nice,
I decided not to be any more.

Just when I thought I stopped to matter,
It stopped to matter to me.

Just when I thought I needed a friend,
None appeared for me.

Just when I thought I needed a shoulder,
I realised I was a weight.

Just when I thought I needed the arms,
I realised they weren't meant for me.

Just when I thought I started to see,
The truth blinded me again.

Just when I thought I was getting better,
They got the better of me.

Just when I thought I lost someone,
I realised someone was me.

Just when I thought it was goodbye,
A message popped saying Hi.

Just when I thought it was all in vain,
For the first time I'd been proven right.

Just when I thought I was tired of waiting,
I waited some more.

Just when I thought it was over
It really was.

  1. “Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place, and I don't care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done! Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody.----Rocky Balboa

Said in the reel life of the actor but highly effective in real life of actors like us..

Better Single than Sorry

Walking down the aisles at Archie's gallery, gazing at various love objects such as Teddy Bears, Cupid idols, Love birds, Together forever frames, and other love-related shit; I finally ended up picking a Happy Anniversary greeting card for my parents. If this is not the torment of Valentine's day, then I don't know what is. No, the torment isn't buying an Anniversary card, it's the struggle to find general greetings amidst this store full of red hearts and love quotes that describes a world where love is measured by objects and not emotions.  If you choose 14th February to confess your feelings, that's not falling love, it's fooling in love. With due respect to Saint Valentine and Cupid, this day has become overhyped, overrated and over celebrated. How can you decide to pamper your loved one only on one day of the year and bestow all the love (pocket money) upon them?  Expensive gifts and flowers only provide the sellers with one week of good business and t...

Things We Do When We Hate Someone

We have all been mad at someone or the other for some reason or the other but does that put an end to our love for them? Do we stop feeling the same for them? The answer is relative to the reason for which you’re mad at them. IF it is something that can be fixed, then the answer is NO, but surely when the damage done is irreparable, let’s take YES as the answer. People change, feelings change. Nobody can guarantee same behaviour throughout the course of a relationship. This is one solid ground for relationships falling apart. They say, "The opposite of love isn't hate. It is indifference." I am a true believer of these words but then again, sometimes, the next level indifference is called hate, or so I like to think. It's like they cease to exist for me, hence their role in my life becomes zero.   If I were to define hatred, it would be "absence of love”. It is a long ride to go from being mad at someone to hate them but there’s no looking back when you de...

Different Kinds of People Seen During Diwali

Diwali is ,indeed, synonymous with togetherness, bonding and festivity. The most-awaited festival is here and I can already feel the air spell happiness. A lot has changed with time. However, some things have remained constant throughout, and this year is no exception. Coming to people, one can be sure to find few of the following kinds in their vicinity. Just look around, and you can spot them with no difficulty. After all, such are the people who make sure to keep alive the essence of Diwali. Watch out, you could be one of them, too! ;) 1. Card-Players Black jack, flash, bluff? Hello Mr. Know-It-All. Such are the people whose nights and money are spent playing endless card games. Seems like Diwali is the perfect time to get out that new pack of cards you'd been saving since a whole year. For the players, 'up and down' has more to do with monetary profit and loss than with intercourse positions.    2. Home-ridden creatures This particular kind is voluntarily home r...
